Lifelong Faith FormationGreetings and welcome to the Lifelong Faith Formation web page! I begin this new ministry with enthusiasm and excitement! This web page has been prepared so that you can better understand the concepts of Lifelong Formation and intergenerational learning. For many, both of these concepts are new and mysterious. Lifelong Faith Formation begins with the belief all Christians have more to learn about our God, regardless of age. Too often once a person has received the Sacrament of Confirmation it is the end of their spiritual development. The fact is no one is ever done learning. We are all called to deepen our relationship with God. Lifelong Formation also empowers adults so that they can share their faith with others. A community of active, well informed adult Catholics is the type of culture needed in order to evangelize children, youth and new members. It doesn’t matter if we are eight or 80; there is still something more for us to learn. Intergenerational learning is a format that allows young and old to learn side by side. It recognizes that all members of our community are both learners and teachers. By bringing together our entire community, intergenerational learning will deepen each individual’s connection to the community. This is an exciting, innovative and interactive approach to Faith Formation. This model presents us with the opportunity to define what it means to be Church and what we value as a faith community. The core of our formation rests with the intergenerational program called Generations of Faith. Let us pray that we are able to unite together and nurture the new life that can grow out of this moment. , Yours in Christ, Joe Nettesheim, Director of Lifelong Faith Formation
